"There is probably no more inspirational musician working today……." (Gramophone) and "the unsurpassed British glory of the Baroque violin" (The Times) are only two of the superlatives which British violinist Rachel Podger has attracted during her very impressive and varied career. She has established herself as a leading interpreter of the Baroque and Classical music period, being Gramophone Artist of the Year 2018 followed by the award of Artist in Residence at the Wigmore Hall 2019-20. Her recent recordings of Beethoven and Mozart sonatas have attracted wide critical acclaim.
She works extensively with other prestigious groups, including Brecon Baroque, which she founded, vocal ensemble VOCES8 and the Academy of Ancient Music. Rachel is a dedicated educator, holds an honorary position at the Royal Academy of Music and has presented BBC Radio 3's 'Inside Music'.
Rachel has an easy rapport with audiences and will talk about the music and the history of the time.
